I recently came across another discussion of Pex vs copper pipe in an old issue of Fine Homebuilding (September 2005.) It's cross-linked polyethylene; some prefer copper... Maybe you can find Breaktime (their online discussion group) archived on their website: www.finehomebuilding.com
